Exciting news for former residents of the United Kingdom, France, or Republic of Ireland between 1980 and 1996: you can now donate blood, as the previous restrictions due to ‘mad cow’ disease have been lifted.
Donating blood typically takes 5-10 minutes on the donor bed. The entire process, including registration, a confidential interview, and post-donation recovery, takes approximately 60 minutes.
Your blood donation is a priceless gift that supports cancer treatments, surgeries, trauma victims, and those with autoimmune or bleeding disorders. By becoming a blood donor, you make a lifesaving impact in communities across New Zealand.
Before booking, check your eligibility using the online quiz, as other factors may affect your ability to donate.
